Got to agree and the content is weak.Its been like that for quite some time.90's rap to me was great.Even to early 2000 when DMX was still big.But then it declined from there.I'm not saying its all trashed but mainly club music and something to dance to.But given a few examples of just garbage music Hallie Berry by....hell I don't even know but Tony Montana by Future is another one.The grade of music is a C- these days.No real lyrics.Me being from New York,I'm use to tight lyrics and whatever happen to rappers like Mos Def and Talib Kweli.Where the hell is Common at cause he seems to be the last one of that breed.The Lyricist Lounge.  |

There is no longer any substance or any type of message left in the music

I like to hear real hardcore lyrics. That's why I kinda migrate toward underground battle rap nowadays, you can hear some real bars from dudes still trying to make it. All these mainstream rappers are killing the game. Anybody can rap now as long as you have the backing, and MONEY. Dont need talent theses days

Theres a lack of raw pure talent for example Cardi. Shes cool as a fan but she has no talent in my opinion. Ppl gassing up folks with no talent and they don't even write they own lyrics.
